Refurbished Ceado Life X Coffee Grinder
Ceado Life X Coffee Grinder
The Ceado Life X is a much-appreciated redesign of a grinder we already loved for its versatility, performance, and affordability. This compact, stylish coffee grinder is designed to handle whatever life throws its way, from espresso to French press and everything in between. With an updated user interface and burr geometry, the Life X results in better flavor and a cleaner cup of coffee, no matter how you choose to brew it.
Features & Benefits
New on the Life X is an updated user interface that adds a specified manual grinding button, as well as a gray background that helps distinguish the buttons from their surroundings. This makes programming up to two doses in 0.1 second increments even more intuitive than on the original Life grinder. Most notably, the redesigned X burrs have an updated grinding geometry that improves performance and results in a cleaner, smoother cup across all grind sizes. They’ve also updated the grinding chamber to give the burrs more range of motion, so you can achieve coarseness levels appropriate even for French press brewing on the Life X.
Just like its predecessor, the Life X houses an impressive 250 W motor and a set of hefty, 50mm flat steel burrs in a surprisingly compact and stylish frame—just 5.9” wide, 7.9” deep, and 14.2” tall. Switching between the single-dosing apparatus and the 8.8 oz bean hopper is incredibly easy, as is swapping between the hands-free portafilter fork and the dosing cup platform.
The full range of stepless, micrometric grind adjustments is accessed by a single turn of the knob, meaning the numbers on the dial are actually indicative of the grind size you’ve set—a 3 is going to be the same every time. This makes switching between large and small grind sizes easy, so you can flow from brewing pour-over to espresso without needing to dial in again.
Grind Setting Analysis
We tested the particle distribution across grind sizes on the Life X. Based on those results, we’ve recommended general guidelines for which grind settings would likely best be suited to which styles of coffee preparation. Keep in mind these are recommendations based on our testing, and your experience might not match them perfectly. Think of them as a good place to start, but don’t be afraid to make adjustments based on your own results and tastes.
