Eureka Mignon Libra AP Weight-Based Coffee Grinder
Eureka Mignon Libra 65 AP
The Eureka Mignon Libra 65 AP is an all-purpose weight-based grinder featuring 65mm flat steel burrs and an updated grind adjustment knob that makes switching between coarse and fine grind sizes a breeze. With Eureka’s telltale build quality, ACE anti-static system, and silent-grind technology, the Mignon Libra AP might just be the best Mignon yet.
Features & Benefits
The standout feature of the Eureka Mignon Libra 65 AP is its updated burr set. They’re larger, 65mm compared to the 55mm ones on the original Libra, and rear mounted for a more uniform grinding surface. They also feature a different grinding geometry than those on the original Libra, which was an espresso-focused grinder. The updated geometry improves performance across the full range of grind sizes, so you have a grinder just as precise when grinding for cold brew as for espresso.
To easily switch between coarse and fine grind sizes, Eureka totally redesigned the grind adjustment knob. It’s larger now, and features a range from 0–20 (rather than 0–9). They also added a rotation counter which ticks up as you adjust coarser and down as you adjust finer. This helps you keep track of a variety of grind sizes, and takes much of the guesswork out of dialing back in after switching between different brew methods.
As with the original, the Libra 65 AP is a weight-based grinder. This is a much more precise method of grind dosing than timing your grind cycles, and the definitive choice of expert baristas and coffee aficionados around the world. Like all Mignon grinders, the Libra 65 AP is built in Italy with commercial-grade components and features Eureka’s namesake efficiency features, including Silent-Grind technology and the ACE anti-static system.
The result is a convenient, accurate, and relatively quiet grinder that’s built to stand the test of time.
Why You Should Get It
The Mignon Libra 65 AP is an exciting option for anyone who wants the convenience and precision of weight based grinding but doesn’t want to lock themselves into brewing only espresso. The updated grind adjustment knob makes it easy to switch between large and coarse grind sizes, and the 65mm rear-mounted all-purpose burrs mean you’ll get impressively consistent results across the entire range.
